Careers in Botany: Beyond Academia is a Q&A panel organized by the Botanical Society of America’s Early Career and Professional Development Committee. We have invited professionals from botanic gardens, industry, agritech, publishing and science communication, and federal agencies to answer your questions and share insights on building a career beyond the walls of academia.

Panelists will discuss how they got started outside of academia, how they transitioned into their current roles, what it’s like to work in their respective fields, and what skills have been most valuable along the way. The first 45 minutes of the panel will be devoted to questions submitted in advance via the registration link with the last 15 minutes open for live Q&A and discussion.
