NewsAn Important Update on BSA Social Media ChannelsThis is an announcement that BSA will no longer be posting on X (previously Twitter) starting January 1, 2025. In November 2023 we sent a survey to our members regarding whether BSA should stay on X and at that time the general consensus was to wait and see before making any changes. Over time, it has become increasingly clear that the social media platform X no longer aligns with the principles we uphold as a community—where respect, inclusivity, and thoughtful conversation thrive. The BSA Board voted, and while we have valued the connections and interactions we've had on this platform, we believe the benefits of remaining on X are now outweighed by the negatives. It's time to move forward and better use our resources to promote the Society, our publications, and our conference elsewhere. Please note we will maintain our account on X as a resource for accessing past content, but will not be posting any new content there as of January 1. We hope you will join us on our other social media platforms:
We will continue to engage and share updates with you through our other channels, and we will continue to explore even more platforms that can connect our community. If you have any questions or thoughts, please don’t hesitate to reach out by emailing bsa-manager@botany.org. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Many thanks,
